Crusaders Enjoy Signing Day Ceremony

      On Friday, May 03, 2019, various staffmembers and administration at Arthur L. Johnson High School participated in a signingday ceremony to honor Cecilia Puentes (Soccer) and Natalya Torres (Track andField) for their years of service to Crusader Athletics and commemorate theirsigning of Nation Letters of Intent to play NCAA Collegiate Athletics.


     Arthur L. Johnson’ssenior student athlete Cecilia Puentes signed her letter of intent to continue herathletic and academic career at the collegiate level, where she will continueplaying Soccer at Pace University for the Setters. Cecelia had an outstandingseason for the Crusaders as she led her team to an outstanding season. Ceciliascored 40 goals and added 41 assists throughout her soccer career while alsoplaying for the Crusader Girls’ Basketball team. As one can see, Cecelia has hada wonderful athletic career as a Crusader.

 

     Arthur L.Johnson’s senior student athlete Natalya Torres signed her letter of intent tocontinue her athletic and academic career at the collegiate level, where shewill continue competing in Track and Field at Monmouth University for the Division1 Hawks. The senior had an outstanding career for the Crusaders as she led herteam to multiple High Jump Championships throughout her career, includingrecently setting the Union County record in the High Jump relays. As one cansee, Natalya has had a wonderful athletic career as a Crusader.

 

     Gus Kalikas, Athletic Director at ArthurL. Johnson High School, had this to say about the event. “Cecilia and Natalyahave been integral parts of the success of our athletic programs while competingat Arthur L. Johnson High School. More importantly, they have been modelstudent athletes that did things the right way both on the fields, in theclassroom, and throughout our community. Although it will be sad to see themleave, the Crusader’s loss is their University’s gain, and we look forward tofollowing their successful collegiate athletic careers over the next fouryears.

 

     Crusader Athletics would like to wish thebest of luck to Cecilia and Natalya as they culminate wonderful careers for theCrusaders and continue their academic and athletic successes as collegiatestudent athletes.
